LED Mapping and Stage Design [€ 100]
Initiation on LED mapping and stage design for events, art installations and performances.
An initiative created by Optikal Ink Lab. Special guest VJ Gorilla.
LED Mapping is a new technique that uses LED technology and DMX/arnet protocols to design spaces, stages, installations, sculptures and suits among others using a specialized software and hardware set-up to programming lights. Meantime stage design makes the difference when it comes down to the details, it is about working with specific spaces thriving on the limitations and using the available area in unique and creative ways to bring out the best for performances or shows.
Currently both techniques are used for different artistic and commercial purposes, we can find sculptures, live AV performances, window shops, scenography and fashion designs based on it but the limit is your creativity. With this workshop we expand the possibilities for those who works with lighting, scenography, visual design and art, as well as for enthusiasts who want to start in this field learning the basic steps to work on it.
Students will get fully-functional 30-day trial versions of the MadMapper software.

Art has changed, now each of us is an element belonging to the second in which we connect with the artist, we get absorbed by your intentions and merge with its proposal, art moves us. But what moves to art? Definitely, it is not only ingenuity but also the technology that allows the artist to express his senses through his work.
Jose Carlos Reyna, one of the most representative visual artists from South America, has experienced this and we share the evolution of his work from the use of Modul8, the software that made it possible to develop volume and movement in his art pieces and spread the communication limits static or animated video designed to impact the public. Fascinated by this discovery, in 2015 José Carlos contacted with Boris Edelstein, creator of Modul8, and the result of this connection was a workshop for all visual artists of his country. They were two days in which artists from different cities came to Lima to meet and learn Boris Madmapper utilities, revolutionary software that allows mapping of more friendly and easy. What is striking about this was the 3D mapping workshop which performed the most representative of the Lima city archaeological site, Huaca Pucllana. This projection on the impressive monument was a clear sign that things are changing and where you least expect to find artistic performances that move us. Definitely, this was a defining moment for the Peruvian artists, because after this experience José Carlos Reyna stay in front of a group, composed of the best visual artists, with the mission of proposing and activate the visual art scene.
