3rd edition of international digital art festival PATCHlab 7-12 Oct 2014 Krakow/ Poland
Interactive installations, AV performances and live-acts, mapping, generative art, net-art, video-art, Media lab and workshops. Artists from Poland, Europe and Mexico whose works were presented in Pompidou Center, International Art Biennale WRO in Wroclaw and Ars Electronica Festival, granted with prizes in Europe and Japan. This is PATCHlab – international event dedicated to contemporary (post)digital art forms in Krakow, Poland where world of science and art meets to focus on new trends and opportunities in digital, audiovisual art created with new means of communication. New technologies, open-source platforms, machinery and tools, which are developed and processed by the users, where ‘digitalism’ often co-inherence with ‘analogism’.
During the PATCHlab 2014 on the exhibitions in the Contemporary Art Gallery Bunkier Sztuki, Forum Przestrzenie and Pavillon Wyspianski will be presented selected interactive installations and audiovisual works created by Polish and foreign artists from fields such as generative art, interactive art, DIY, net-art, video art, sound art, experimental film forms, projektionism, mapping, VJing and other often overstepping known disciplines.
PATCHlab GENERATOR is a new special section – international conference focused on the designing process in the times of post-digital evolution (in cooperation with Architecture Interior Design of Krakow Fine Art Academy).
PATCHlab is focused on new technology development – during Media Lab Polish and foreign artists and lecturers are going to introduce to the participants the possibilities offered by new technologies presenting the tools in a broad sense, emerging outside the main trends and as an important element in the hands of contemporary artists.
PATCHlab is also a review of selected international AV performances from France, Italy and Germany during a special AV NIGHT with an ambitious electronic music and live visuals.
