STM~ is a collaborative research project inspired by wave–particle duality. Two live performing artists use digital sound production and particle trace simulation through interconnected data-systems to create a unique synesthetic experience.
STM~ is an audiovisual unison, indivisible elements that shape a sculpture of space-time and result in a sensory experience. It is an indeterminate journey with its own natural laws and principles unfolding before the eyes of the spectator. The laws that influence both the particles and the sound are created by the artists, but they include randomness. Eventually the performance results in an exploration of the artists’ own a priori.
BIO:
Luis Sanz, Multimedia artist based in Bern, Switzerland, Sanz’s works take on multiple forms such as audiovisual performances, installation and generative art. He draws inspiration from geometry, surrealism, nature, abstraction, architecture and futurism. He experiments with sound, generative graphics and leads those experiments into the field of digital arts.
Niculin Barandun, post-industrial maker based in Basel, Switzerland, crafts processes in the fields of art, technology and design. Fascinated by the vast vernacular of nature, contemporary art and science, he seeks to capture the indeterminate in a minimalistic way.
