Refugium AV performance is a part of a larger artistic project under the same title. The Refugium project analyzes the universal, human need for having one's own place, a personal area/territory, which is one of the basic elements conditioning individual identity and cultural and social belonging. This issue is particularly relevant during the violent increase in migration movements associated with Russian aggression in Ukraine, as well as the ongoing refugee crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border. However, this phenomenon is much broader and has a global character, and its processing is particularly important in the context of current and future political, social, and climatic threats, the effect of which will be further intensification of migration movements.
