WAKE is a live audiovisual duo performing a hybrid live-coded, hypnotic, eclectic fusion of original, cinematic electronic music and pulsating beats with live keyboards and realtime visuals, revealing a flirtatious symbiosis between the ranges of human emotional experience and computer code.
Lena Kilkka /lucid/ attempts to musically translate her own human dreamworld realities via code with TidalCycles and SuperCollider, synthesizing a playful yet powerfully dark, dystopian rhythmic journey. Thomas Mann /pixtur/ uses TiXL (formerly Tooll3), his own custom-developed, open-source framework for crafting elaborate live visuals, to create and orchestrate sensory stimulating visuals whose nuances are steered by lucid’s audio signal data.
WAKE is Berlin-based. Pixtur and lucid have been creating award-winning audiovisual artworks together for over 15 years and have deep roots in the demoscene, a long-standing, international computer-arts subculture recently recognized as a UNESCO cultural heritage.

Lena Kilkka aka "lucid" is a Berlin-based creator of sonic worlds. For well over a decade, she has composed and soundtracked multiple, award-winning real-time animation productions in the demoscene, a long-standing, international computer-arts subculture. She’s an active musician and producer in several live bands and audiovisual projects of differing genres. Always torn between his desire to learn new programming languages and to improve his design skills, pixtur has done stuff such as writing intros in assembler, studying architecture and doing water color drawing. He spends most of his spare time in the creation of demos and animation tools. And playing badminton.
He is the maintainer for TiXL - an open source suite for realtime content creation and animation.
He performs together with Lucid -- doing the visual side of WAKE.
