Short on the latest project, recorded in 8 African countries in 2009.

The idea was to get the most versatile and yet professional video and audio gear possible and bring it on a 5 month more or less improvised journey from Addis Ababa to Cape Town and capture the African daily life, experienced from public transport trough out the route. Keeping the budget low and sleeping in a tent for 2 months, we managed to come pretty close to the nature. East-Africa is well known for stunning scenery. Considering the rough conditions such as dust winds, subzero temperature in tents at night, hiking on trailers smuggling refugees alongside the Somali/Kenya border, tropical thunder and rainstorms -alone at night in the Okavango, almost all the gear made it through the journey and most importantly, all 48 tapes made it as well. The adventure is now being visualized and enhanced for the both the clubber and the more mellow house-enthusiasts delight.

The joy of experiencing life and the richness and vividness of earth is the red line that is meant to both entertain and inspire the viewer to reflect upon nature as a living and breathing being. Africa is the true source of rhythm and music and hence the similarity of African and European subcultures is an interesting subject to work with. The challenge is to use the footage at not voice or text to express these philosophies, which makes it necessary to create some kind of dialogue between the viewer and content being presented. The hypnotic, down tempo house beat contributes in achieving this.
