This is a quick walkthru of my process, from concept to completion, of how to build a flash utility that will enable chromeless playback of any YouTube video from a standard YouTube URL (no interface, borders, etc-- just a video feed in the FLV video format). The final version of this is to be enabled to run thru the video mixing software Resolume, but you should easily be able to modify it for whatever you need.
It has play/pause, set in/out points, scrub functions, and volume control. The entire utility was programmed in Flash AS3.

PROJECT ONE: Creating a YouTubeViewer in Resolume
This is a quick walkthru of my process, from concept to completion, of
how to build a flash utility that will enable chromeless playback of
any YouTube video from a standard YouTube URL (no interface, borders,
etc-- just a video feed in the FLV video format). The final version of
will be enabled to run thru the video mixing software application
Resolume Avenue 3, but you should easily be able to modify it for
whatever you need.
Features:
-- Load YouTube videos directly into your Resolume Avenue 3 interface
-- Layer any footage and apply blends, masks, alphas, RGB channels, resizes
-- Link all timeline functions to the Resolume dashboard: play,
pause, trim points, scrub timeline, adjust the volume
USING YOUTUBE WITH FLASH
-- How to extract, download, or play a YouTube FLV from a YouTube page.
-- PHP, Flash, and Resolume
-- Using the GOOGLE API-- featuring the "chromeless" player
-- Linking the YouTube timeline to the Resolume control panel

PROJECT TWO: Creating a FLICKR viewer in Resolume
This is a quick walkthru of how to build a flash utility that runs a
slideshow of images from a FLICKR image search. Type any search term
into the Resolume control panel, and this utility will pull anywhere
from 1 to 30 images from the FLICKR website that match the result, and
put them in a slideshow.
Features:
-- Run a FLICKR search from inside the Resolume Avenue 3 platform
-- Automatically compile images from the search result into a slideshow
-- Link all slideshow functions to the Resolume dashboard: play,
pause, slideshow speed, transition type
USING A FLICKR IN RESOLUME
-- Using the FLICKR API in Flash
-- Understanding search.method parameters in Flash: description, tag,
text, license, size
-- Creating a FLIKR slideshow
-- Slideshow functions (center, resize, toggle slideshow, play/pause,
turn dissolve on/off)
-- Linking the slideshow functionality to Resolume control panel
It has play/pause, set in/out points, scrub functions, and volume control. The entire utility was programmed in Flash AS3.
