Not everybody understands the true calling behind mixing live. People think it’s about the party, the dance floor, the crowd… some might even say it’s all about the music. Truth is, mixing implies all that, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The true relevance of a human standing behind the decks vs. just an automated machine, lies on the importance of the performer as a Reader, becoming an organic bond between the people, the rhythm and the aura/ambience. This is the foundation of synesthesia, and our primal goal as music-shamans.

I judge my sets not based on genres, but in the hypnotic properties of the music I’m playing. Sub-bass provides amazing results when engaging the crowd in an intra-mental state of mind. Cueing the right sequence for the building of narrative-oriented sets, allows the climax to archieve it’s max potential.
