SPIRAL COMPOSITION - RHYTHM AND FORMAL ' GESTURE .
The duo Fake Samoa has its roots in a documentary experience , a search for visual anthropology aims to investigate the relationship between man, machine and rhythm in image and sound.
The movement of the machine programmed always the same man- generated material production : a metal object , an image and a sound.
This work aims to explore the close relationship there may be between image and sound if programmed to stay together .
In the machines , in the form of a pulley and the length of a pinion generate gestures always equal that then build objects always equal.
The rituals of the gesture comes from its applications manual : man tries to replicate endlessly the same action for objects equal to each other and the same thing happens in music, in the generation of the rhythm in which a sound is replicated always equal to same .
The only part of the field which instead is uncontrollable and is always different is that of metal shavings , the representation of time as waste matter.
In the performance , at the same time to a construction of the image is built a rhythmic sound , more and more obsessive and tribal flows into a hypnotic language and almost " techno" .
The musical performance , as well as video editing will be live , with only analog instruments , with the aim of generating sounds and rhythms repeated to reproduce the form of music, the sound characteristics , circulars and rituals typical of industrial machinery.
" In Spiral Composition feeling of being rejected by the apparent immobility of the images is accompanied by the impression of falling into a gentle vortex mixer .
The gears trace out the same joints, the objects created by the machines constantly follow the same paths , only the residual matter is witnessing a gap , visual and temporal .
A eulogy of circularity mechanics that investigates the industrial imagery closely, where each element is a component of an organism, visual and sound . " - Claudio Musso
