I am an artist and musician who explores ways of utilizing the voice and body as a means of expression using music, computer programming, and robotics. With music being so deeply rooted in the history and traditions of society, my work aims to explore the human processes of improvisation, composition, and the overall production of original music, and how, or if, this can be imitated, recreated, or enhanced by computer coding.

Reflecting my heavily-involved career as a percussionist, my projects focus on the musical elements of rhythm, timing, and dynamics to create experiences of spectacle and immersion. The space in which these projects exist varies between the physical and virtual.

My goal is to elicit an emotional response from the audience or participants by engaging in music-oriented experiences driven primarily by computer programming. What is the magnitude at which programs enhance the process of creating and performing music?
