Marilena Kouvidi is an architect-engineer (member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and RIBA) and Digital Media artist. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at Universitá degli studi, Federico II, Naples, Italy, (Distinction). She has been awarded the MA in Architecture and Digital Media at the University of Westminster, London, UK.
She has participated in 3D projection Mapping seminars with Telenoika, Spain, AntiVj- Joannie Lemercier (France), Playmodes (Spain), Roberto Fazio (Italy), XA Atelier (Athens) - Advanced Architectural Workshop.
She has worked as an architect of the Munkenberg + Marshall Architectural Office in London and has worked with architectural offices in Athens and Italy for luxury residential, commercial, office and restoration of neoclassical buildings and as a Research Associate in the field of virtual reality and 3D animation production at the NCSR "Demokritos" Integrated Systems Laboratory. She participated at Documenta14 as an exhibition Architect, collaborating with the artists and renovating big scale spaces for the exhibition.
She works as a freelancer in Athens and she is interested in the correlation between art and technology and the relationship between sound and image.She has developed a multifaceted artistic activity in the field of interactive installations, new media, performances and video art. In April 2016 he took part in the "be Troo" exhibition at the Piree Gallery.
She has taught at digital art seminars specializing in 3D projection mapping at Soundtectonics. She has also presented children's seminars with the projection mapping technique at the Niarchos Foundation, the Parnassus Philosophical Club and the Kazantzakis Museum. She is part of the “3+2” team and they participated in SKG BRIDGES FESTIVAL 2019 with an audiovisual installation based on projection mapping.
