With a view that goes from the intimate to the geological, the work converses between the poetic and the documentary, translating/interpreting the voices (metaphorically) with which the mountain and its glacier speak about the last journey in their life cycle.
The work is structured from the compilation of data, sounds and knowledge from the mountainous area of Mexico. It narrates in a contemplative way, the mountain and its glacier through images and data visualization, its geology, its biodiverse environment, its impact on human life... All this covered by a sound performance based mainly on telemetric transduction of the sounds of the glacier and recordings of direct sound from the environments around it.
Sesekpan is the closest vocabulary in the Nahuatl language that beautifully describes what we understand as a glacier. The moment that generationally we have had to live is listening to the last heartbeats of many of them, which metaphorically refer to the sounds that the ice has been making for a few years now, cracking in its structure, creaking and sliding, announcing the end of its days. The main purpose of Sesekpan is to generate a sensitization experience and pay tribute to these monumental ice beings.
