[Text available only in English] This workshop will take you from zero to hero using Quartz Composer. For those who have never used it before and for those with some experience. We will particularly be focusing on writing Quartz Composer compositions for vj host applications VDMX, Resolume Avenue, Modul8 and Arkaos Grand VJ.
Each concept is introduced as part of a hands-on project, steadily building the user's knowledge base, and demonstrating/encouraging experimentation every step of the way. The projects start out very simple, and the first focus is always on beautiful visual feedback, a method which immediately resonates with users, and encourages them to explore the systems they are creating.
There will be an oportunity for participants to direct the workshop to deal with areas they have a particular interest in.
Topics covered will include:
• VDMX integration
• Resolume Avenue integration
• Modul8 integration
• Arkaos Grand VJ integration
• Playing and filtering movies
• Working with 3d objects and particle systems
• Connecting midi
• Audio reactivity
• Wii motes and other controllers
• Lighting
EQUIPMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Please bring a mac with quartz installed ( it comes free on your dev disks - video tutorial here: Installing and setting up Quartz Composer of Leopard Mac OSX 10.5 ) [http://vimeo.com/704322]
