The workshops aim to teach the principles of the nodes programming environment vvvv, starting with the basics and gradually coming to the creation of a first attempt at real-time interactive visuals that react to sound.
Topics covered will include:
• Installing the software and a brief introduction to the website of vvvv
• Introduction to the architecture and interface of the software
• Use of I/O Boxes, Inspektor and Spreads
• Connection to MIDI controllers
• Using audio as a data source (audio analysis using FFT, RMS and ScopeSpread)
• Introduction to the DirectX rendering and visualization of audio analysis
• Step by step creation of a 3D application responsive to the sound in real time (and possibly controlled via MIDI)
EQUIPMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
You must be equipped with your own laptop with with a (not emulated) Windows installed on (vvvv is windows only!).
Does not require any knowledge of the software vvvv.
It is desirable but not mandatory, to bring your own MIDI controller.
The workshop is 4 sessions, about 3 hours each. It is held in english and translated in Italian and accept no more than 26 participants.

- Abstract birds are Pedro Mari and Natan Sinigaglia, two visual music artists.
