Drawing on a Classical training as pianist and composer, but fusing the electronic, synthesized rhythms of his previous Manhattan and newer Berlin home, P. KIRN's cinematic music is generated together with visuals via abstract, generative interfaces of his own creation. Producing music as a kind of virtual architecture, his live set both visualizes musical structure and provides an interactive interface for performance. Built using libpd, an open source library to which he contributes, music and visuals can be composed together.
Peter Kirn, a native of Kentucky, is known as the editor of Create Digital Music and Create Digital Motion.
