The Visions Project 3-D is a volumetric device that allows pseudo visualization of 3-D objects and their interaction with the user.
Objects are projected onto a pyramidal structure with a LCD monitor, and due to the special geometry of the structure, it looks like real 3-D objects floating inside the pyramid for any observer from any direction. Moreover, this structure uses a Kinect camera, in order to capture the external movement of the people and permit the interaction user-object in real time.
In other hand, this project has been conceived like a DIY portable open, that means that the structure is light and easy of build and dismantle, and all the information necessary to create, build and how to make that works, it’s share with a Creative Commons license.
How it works:
Basically, the people are placed around the structure to observe the image, but only the people placed in front the device are capture by the camera, and they can control the image.

- VLab 4D was formed in the Medialab-Prado in 2010, in
the context of Fridays OpenLab. The starting point was the
investigation of the new 3D visualization forms of art installations and
contents noncommercial, learning and experiencing different ways
of visualization tools and 3D devices. In a second present intention
is to apply the science in developing experimental art, experimental video and audiovisual effects.
