In this lecture I would like to talk about how I think about audiovisual composition and how I think about and work with my central compositional material - (tight) audiovisual objects.
My audiovisual practice revolves around the idea of pluralistic audiovisual paradigm where sound and image are of equal importance and where most compositional decisions are made on a basis of cross-fertilization between both modalities. Therefore in my work both image or sound can either lead or follow. Also, as it is often the case, I work with real-time audiovisual objects where 3D geometry movement generates sounds, rhythms or colours. Different audiovisual relationships and hierarchies hence co-exist in my work and I try to exploit them as a compositional parameter.
