"Unveiled displacement" invites us to take a leap into the unknown, where the earthquake and seismic waves, abstractions and the real world collide in an experience of audiovisual dislocation.
Between constraints and releases, "Unveiled displacement" is a performance that seeks tension and its opposite, drawing inspiration from the seismic event of Amatrice that has caused the destruction of the city. The performance uses magnitude data of the earthquake occurred in August 2016 in order to manipulate audio and video. In a succession of non-linear events, physical and emotional boundaries emerge from the surface, between sound grains and visual particles. Through the movements of the friction levels of the earth, the matter becomes multisensory and rich in artifacts. The matter displaced by its position in the real creates a double aesthetic significance. On the one hand, it shows a vehicle in a critical state: a moment ruined, unwanted, unrecognized, accidental and horrible. On the other hand, it is the medium that as an agent of change, sets its boundaries between reality and its interpretation.
