I am 21 years old. I was born in Caltagirone (Catania) and for three years I have been living in Bologna, where I am attending the last year at the University course in Film Studies (DAMS).

Since I was a teenager I have always been fascinated by Philosophy, Literature and Art, perhaps because they deal with different, unconventional cultures and unclassified ways of life.

At sixteen, passing through creative interests such as juggling and skateboard, I discovered my passion for photography and cinema.

Images intrigued me, so I started making conceptual photos and I published them on-line (for instance, on deviantart); I spent my evenings with friends looking for films that could stimulate brain and heart, boycotting TV and commercial movies.

In my initial approach to images, a peculiar influence was given to me by films such as 1984, The dreamers, Ghost in the shell or by Audrey Tautou, Takeshi Kitano, Aronofsky, Kim Ki Duk, Kubrick, Lynch, Micheal Gondry, Miyazaki, Tim Burton, Tsai Ming-Liang.

At present my tastes have developed and are constantly changing.

In 2008, after I acquired proper software and hardware skills, I came close to the practice of VJ-ing as a testing technique for my studies on cinema and my passion for images.

My aim is to show fragments of the cinema of origins, in black and white, conceptual and experimental, to a wide audience that usually know and appreciate it little. The image, shown in a non-conventionally cinematic space and context (a “de-cinematized” one), acquires an extremely powerful aesthetic charge.

At the same time, I work on my homemade loops and at developing research processes and de-contestualizing contemporary visual material.

Moreover I devote myself to the shooting and cutting of video reports for venues and DJs and to the creation of audio/video performances.

In the future I would like to have the opportunity to make real video clips.
