Sometimes the hardware wonders what the software is doing. Sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes a brain in a jar in a simulation is just a brain, not a cigar. Even jar-brains can have a special day. This day is the jar-brain’s birthday.
This performance uses prop and animatronic modular synthesizers to pretend to be a video mixing performance. It's made from l'd candy packaging, offcuts from the laser lab, cadbury egg prizes, loose wires, fishtank parts, some arduinos, and other spare parts I had lying around the house.

Eric Medine is a Berlin-based experiential producer working in multimedia and video art. He has given numerous lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and presentations on topics such as curating electronic art, hacking video game hardware, and software programming for live video exhibitions.
In the early 200's he ran Drivethru Studios, a not-for-profit, independent gallery dedicated to emerging artists working in painting, video, and sculpture in Chicago
In 2004 he closed down the Drivethru Studios and relocated to Los Angeles...
