Memory is never what it once was. What we remember never fully coincides with what actually happened.
Re:Trace (I–IV) — in this performance, selected movements from this four-part work return to the stage. A work that sees repetition not as something static, but as a transformative process: each return carries a subtle difference within it — a different light, an unexpected inclination, a changed observer. This is not repetition, it is reconstruction: a partial and fragile reflection, like an image on a rippled surface.
Certain sounds return — not identical, but familiar enough to awaken a suspended sensation. The mind enters a tunnel of thoughts in which time and space stretch, and memory no longer functions as a linear archive, but becomes living matter, made of silences, distortions, and fleeting details. Memory appears and disappears, fragments and reforms, leaving behind nothing but a trace.
In the performed sections, the weight of individual memory resonates within the collective echo of events, historical wounds, and experiences that have been erased or denied — some choose disconnection, others remain attuned to the underlying noise. But what has been filtered out or forgotten still remains beneath the surface, ready to resurface in a moment of rupture.
Alongside these sections, Liminal Study 1 will be performed — a new and independent piece that marks the beginning of a research path and a new project. A work that carries the same underlying question into threshold spaces: where sound and image are neither present nor absent, but remain suspended between the two.
