Athens Video Art Festival has undertaken for second year the organization of LPM – Live Performers Meeting.
Athens Showcase which will be held on 22 – 23 March 2013 at the experimental space AN[A]MESA. Faithful to the principals of collaboration and open sourcing that Live Performers Meeting represents, the two days showcase seeks for dialogue among people from different countries and backgrounds and underlines the importance of open source and free content distribution.
In addition, the programme will promote the emerging Greek artists of digital arts with the presentation of their innovative ideas.
Here are the activities in the program at ANAMESA Center:
The part of workshops promotes the exchange of knowledge and ideas in order to spread the practice of live video culture. Participants can explore theories of production and development of audiovisual material, they study and experiment with new technologies, they ponder open sourcing culture while they learn how to use current software and hardware.
The three units are Openframeworks, VVVV/VVVVirmata, protocol, Arduino POV
The workshops will be in divided in 2 days, 4 hours per day and will take place from 12:00a.m. to 04:00p.m

The thematic of Athens Showcase will be crowd sourcing and free distribution of audiovisual material. Professionals of the field will present their projects triggering a conversation around the matter but also the role such ideas can play in our contemporary reality.
17:00 – 19:30 Speakers: Creative Commons, Artinook,, Hackerspace, AV Node.
These are the most motivating opportunity for dialogue among the artists. This year the programme includes a VJing contest, project presentations by the workshops participants and unique fusion of cretan musical tradition with electronic sounds and live video.
Athens Showcase is divided into two events of different spirit. The first one will be dedicated to the Greek art scene. Performers will compete in front of the audience for the prize of representing Greece in Rome at the main LPM organization. The second one will include performances that vary, such as presentation of the workshop projects and performances by artists from abroad.
